SUNY College at Plattsburgh

SUNY Plattsburgh's small campus and community helped to focus my education through one-on-one teaching. I learned invaluable aspects of multimedia journalism, the play on words in public relations, strengthened my public speaking ability and confidence and honed my grammar skills.

Here are some courses of special importance for my journalism major:

Print Magazine Production
Gained the necessary reporting knowledge for an aspiring journalist — research, interviews, writing and reporting story pitches for the Adirondack tourism magazine.
Web Design and Production
Learned the basics of HTML5 and CSS coding in the production of a website.
Outdoor Writing
Studied the skill of outdoor writing and reporting in the Adirondack region.
Speech Coaching
Gained public speaking skills and confidence through teaching helping fellow students.
Digital Publishing
Learned the process of developing brochures, fliers and pamphlets using Photoshop and InDesign.

University of Chester, Spring 2016

The University of Chester is located in the small historic city of Chester, England. I took a wide range of challenging courses: Archaeology and the Irish Sea Province, Specific Author, English Phonetics and Phonology, The Nature of Language, The Making of England 400–1066 and News: Agendas, Discourse and Commercialisation. My time spent abroad gave me an understanding of British English, various dialects and cultures.
