I am currently a Sophomore at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh (SUNY Plattsburgh) and am expected to graduate May 2017. I have a Multimedia Journalism major with a double minor in Information Technology and Gender and Women's Studies.

While attending SUNY Plattsburgh I have obtained a bit of experience working with the student newspaper Cardinal Points. Because of this I now know that in the future I hope to work in a field, preferably journalism, where I am an online or video editor for a website. My major Multimedia Journalism has a lot to do with the digital aspect of journalism while encompassing the core writing skills used in the field, and exposing me to practices within the public relations field.

My Gender and Women's Studies(GWS) minor is important to me because it allows me to view the world through a different lens, one where intersectionality and power and privilege are always present. It provides me with the tools I need to reflect on myself as an individual and continue to grow. Although I don't plan on dedicating my life to working for a women's rights organization, as a women it is an important factor for me and I plan on do work with some activist work in the future.

My Information Technology minor is directly related my major because of my interest in the digital aspect of journalism. I actually didn't realize how interested I was in programming and web design until creating all of this. Besides that, I do believe the ability to do html code is a beneficial skill.

In order to my goals, I am hoping to receive a video editing internship during the summer with New York 1 television station. After that, I either want to land a multimedia internship with The New York Times or the interactive graphics internship with The Wall Street Journal. Not only that, but after graduating from undergrad I want to take part in the dual-degree journalism and computer science master's program at Columbia University.
